

Besan Chilla (Savory Gram Flour Pancakes)
Ingredients
- – 1 cup besan gram flour
- – ¼ cup chopped onion
- – ¼ cup chopped tomato
- – 2 green chilies finely chopped
- – 2 tbsp coriander leaves chopped
- – ½ tsp turmeric powder
- – ½ tsp red chili powder
- – Salt to taste
- – Water around ¾ cup
- – Oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, add besan, chopped onion, tomato, green chilies, coriander, turmeric, red chili, and salt.
- Gradually add water and whisk to make a smooth, pourable batter (not too thick or runny).
- Heat a nonstick tawa or pan. Drizzle a little oil and spread it evenly.
- Pour a ladle of batter and gently spread it like a pancake.
- Cook on medium heat for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden and crisp.
- Repeat with remaining batter.
- Serve hot with mint chutney, ketchup, or yogurt.
Notes
For extra nutrition, add grated carrot, spinach, or cabbage to the batter.
