Besan Chilla (Savory Gram Flour Pancakes)

Ingredients
- 1 cup besan
gram flour
- ¼ cup chopped onion
- ¼ cup chopped tomato
- 2 green chilies
finely chopped
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves
chopped
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Water
around ¾ cup
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, add besan, chopped onion, tomato, green chilies, coriander, turmeric, red chili, and salt.
Gradually add water and whisk to make a smooth, pourable batter (not too thick or runny).
Heat a nonstick tawa or pan. Drizzle a little oil and spread it evenly.
Pour a ladle of batter and gently spread it like a pancake.
Cook on medium heat for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden and crisp.
Repeat with remaining batter.
Serve hot with mint chutney, ketchup, or yogurt.
Notes
For extra nutrition, add grated carrot, spinach, or cabbage to the batter.
For crispier chillas, use less water and cook on low flame.
